The Getty Center

This summer I went to the Getty Center with my grandparents. We decided to go because every time we pass the museum they want to go, so this summer we went. When we got there, we first got on the tour. We were learning so many things about the  paintings and who created it. While walking and looking I spotted the kings bed. It looked like to me that the blanket was silk. We also saw a wood sculpture that looked like a statue. It had these meanings on it's foot. I thought to myself and how long would it take.  The tour guide did not say, but it probably took a long time. The last thing we did in the tour was  the garden of eve. I learned more information about Adam and Eve. We ate lunch, and while eating we were thinking of what should we do next. We chose the garden tour. On the tour we past many trees. She told us that all the trees would look like one. Next, we walked down to the garden. I walked to the garden and saw many flowers, vines, and even a maze in the water. It is very beautiful

Here is a photo with the maze and the Getty Center

Have you been to the Getty Center or a museum? If so what did you learn?

  1. @ Sean,

I love the Getty Museum, and yes, I have visited it many times.

    Here is one photo called

    The Getty Garden

    and another one called

    The Getty Garden Trees.

I love the views from high atop the hill, the garden, and the art. Did you see the Van Gogh painting. I think it is called Irises. Here is a link in case you missed it:

Irises. I love the color and movement Van Gogh was able to portray.

See if you can find out anything about the building material of the Getty. :-)

  2. Dear Sean,

I have been to the Getty twice, but only the original location. I want to go to what I consider the "new" location, although it's been there for quite some time. Do you know where the original location is?

    Kind regards,
    Mrs. Watanabe
